As we approach the month of May, it makes me wonder where the school year went! We have had a very good year at PES thus far, and it is important that our students finish strong, both academically and behavior wise.
The most important event that takes place during May is the administering of the WESTEST 2 to our 3rd-6th grade students. It is scheduled for the week of May 14th-18th. An informational letter and brochure was sent home on April 26th. The main focus for students during this important testing week is to get proper sleep, eat a healthy breakfast and simply try their best.
May is an extremely busy month as various school events are scheduled almost on a daily basis. Please check the calendar for field trips, programs, graduations, etc. Since we only have a couple of days of school in June, this will be the last newsletter I will be sending this year. All June events are also included in the calendar.
I will also want to mention that the Project Enrich Summer Program will be funded again this year and will be stationed at PES. If you child is determined to be a good candidate for the program, you will be receiving an application in the next couple of weeks. If you are interested in sending your child, please fill out the necessary information on the form and return it to school. If you have questions, please do not hesitate to call me.
In closing, let me say “Thank You” for the role you serve as parents in helping make PES and this school year a success for our students.
Sincerely,
Mitch Webster
